The last 12 months have been ‘interesting’ times for business but many brave entrepreneurs have faced the challenge head on and in some of the worst hit industries.
No SOS for SES Recruitment Consultants
Not every man would jump at the chance to join his wife as a director of a recruitment company during a recession. When Helen Watson’s co-director, Maggie Atkinson retired from the business at the end of 2009, Brian didn’t hesitate to join his wife, Helen, at the helm to take over the management of the business.
And with good reason. Brian had been working alongside Helen in the business for nearly a year and with Helen’s sales and service delivery expertise plus Brian’s marketing and business development knowledge, they form a powerful duo.
However, they were both soon to discover that the process for reallocating company shares is a considerable challenge in itself and were extremely glad of the support provided by Paul Guest. As Brian explains, “Paul was an absolute rock. He has extensive knowledge and experience and he guided me though the process with a quiet confidence that was an incredible calming influence. I honestly don’t think I could have done it without him”.
Proud to be different
Brian and Helen have business backgrounds as opposed to recruitment and as such they take a different approach when working with their varied client base. They work in partnership with clients, focusing on their business as a whole not just that current vacancy. This winning formula at SES Recruitment Consultants shines through as they have just celebrated twenty years in town.
