Each month, the Exeter College Apprenticeship Team select an Apprentice Employer who has gone above and beyond in supporting and developing their Apprentices.

Jess Moir, Training and Recruitment Advisor at Exeter College, who nominated the firm commented Peplows have recently recruited four Level 3 Accountancy Apprentices, supporting the next financial generation. They have also recruited one Level 3 Business Administrator, with one position still out to advert! Recruiting Apprentices is a key part of their growth strategy and we really value their partnership!”.

Tina Calvert, Marketing Director at Peplows, stated, “We are delighted to be this month's winner. It is vital that we ensure that we have the right people in place to continue to provide assistance to our growing client base. Recruiting apprentices who are digitally adept is a key part of our wider recruitment strategy, particularly in support of our growth in the Exeter office.”

Thomas Pryke and Owen Bates have recently launched their Accountancy Apprenticeships with Peplows in Exeter and Ross Harding joined the firm part way though his apprenticeship, after his employer was unable to continue support. Callum Scrivener and Georgia Pittham have recently joined as Accountancy Apprentices in the Newton Abbot office, where Connor Golding is part way though his apprenticeship. Eleana Spooner has started as a Business Administrator Apprentice in Exeter and a similar position is currently available in Newton Abbot.

The accountancy industry has changed considerably with digitalisation being a key factor. As Tina continues, “Demand for our advice and support has grown over the last few months, despite, and in some cases, because of the challenges businesses face as a result of COVID-19. Harnessing the power of technology to enhance the efficiency, quality and range of services we provide is essential. However, people still want to be able to communicate with a real human being and a personal service remains fundamental to the Peplows' ethos”.
